Joe Perry announces 2025 tour featuring Brad Whitford
Aerosmith announced their retirement from touring in 2024 due to Steven Tyler’s vocal injury and the first one to tour on his own was the bassist Tom Hamilton, who created the band Close Enemies. Now the Joe Perry Project, Joe’s solo band, announced tour dates with a new line-up.
The Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford will be part of the band which also has The Black Crowes vocalist Chris Robinson, drummer Buck Johnson (Aerosmith touring keyboardist), Robert DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots bassist) and Eric Kretz (Stone Temple Pilots drummer).
The shows will happen next August in Tampa (FL), Hollywood (FL), Toronto (Canada), Bala (Canada), Boston (MA), Hampton Beach (NH), Mashantucket (CT) and Port Chester (NY).

The guitarist created The Joe Perry Project in 1979 after he decided to leave Aerosmith. The band was active until 1984 and then he reactivated from 2009 to 2010. Since 2022 it has been touring with different line-ups.
Three albums were released: “Let the Music Do the Talking” (1980),
“I’ve Got the Rock & Rolls Again” (1981) and “Once a Rocker, Always a Rocker” (1983). The setlists usually are a mix of original songs of the band, 70s Aerosmith covers and also famous songs by other artists.
Joe Perry recently performed with Steven Tyler for the first time since the final Aerosmith show. It was a charity performance for Tyler’s Janie’s Fund organization.
They played: “Toys in the Attic”, “Same Old Song and Dance”, “Sweet Emotion”, “Dream On”, “Walk This Way”, “Train Kept a-Rollin'”and “Come Together”.
