The German “Metal Queen” Doro Pesch released a heavy version of Fleetwood Mac‘s hit song “Go Your Own Way”. The track was recorded by the former Warlock vocalist alongside Joel Hoekstra (Ex-Whitesnake) and Sepultura drummer Grayson Nekrutman. Her version is part of the tribute album “Steel Rumours: The Songs of Fleetwood Mac Reforged in Metal”, which will be released next November 20.
“I’ve always liked the song. And it was fun to give it a new twist – especially with a great guitarist like Joel Hokstra and powerhouse drummer Greyson Nekrutman,” Doro Pesch said. Other musicians who appear in the album are singer Tim “Ripper” Owens (Ex-Judas Priest), drummer Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Dio), Ronnie Romero (Rainbow) and Blackmore’s Night singer Candice Night.

Fleetwood Mac’s songs have been covered by countless artists and bands over the years, and one great example of one of their songs being transformed into a great heavy metal version is “The Green Manalishi (With the Two Pronged Crown),” which Judas Priest almost turned into their own song, giving it a completely new life.
Nicknamed The Metal Queen, Doro Pesch was born in Düsseldorf, West Germany in 1964. She started her musical career in 1980 and first gained fame as the vocalist of Warlock then forming her own band called Doro. She released 14 studio albums in her solo career and four with Warlock. Her most recent album is “Conqueress – Forever Strong and Proud, released in 2023.
