Dave Mustaine recalls funny moment with people wearing Megadeth shirts

Megadeth leader Dave Mustaine recalled in an interview with Rolling Stone the funny story of when he saw on the street two girls who were wearing clothes that had the band’s logo but they had no idea who he was. The musician talked about the encounter when explaining the meaning of “Celebutante”, one of the tracks of the Megadeth’s upcoming album “The Sick, The Dying and The Dead”, that will be out next September 2.

Mustaine told Rolling Stone that the song  “Celebutante” is about people that will do anything for fame and he recalled the funny story, saying: “I just saw one of those little monsters just the other day. I was walking down this cute little pass in Eindhoven (Holland). And I see these two young girls, walking, and one of them had a dress on that had Megadeth logos all down the front of it. And I went, ‘Oh, wow.’ I said, ‘Hey, that’s my band.’ And she looked at me like, ‘Get away from me, you pervert.’ And I looked at her and I went, ‘No, no, no, no. That’s my band.’ And she puts her hands up and starts waving me off, like an airplane coming into the jet way too fast.”

When Megadeth’s photographer asked the girls for a photo, they told him they didn’t know the band and bought the clothes in a boutique down the street and said: “We don’t want to give you our fucking pictures.” Mustaine continued, saying: “I said, ‘She was probably just one of those little celebutante chicks that got it when the Kardashians were wearing Slayer’s T-shirts.”
