Europe announces new album and releases first single “One On One”
The final countdown for the next Europe album is over, as the band has announced “Come This Madness” and shared the first single, “One on One.” The new record is set to be released on September 25, and Joey Tempest spoke about the new song, saying: “‘One On One’ is definitely one of my favorite tracks from the album.”
“The power and feel is fresh, but some of the melodies bring me back to where it all began. Lyrically, it’s perhaps not filled with as much escapism as early Europe. These lyrics automatically ended up being more of a reflection of the times we live in today. Ever since ‘One On One’ was just a demo, we’ve stayed with it… never gave up on it, and elevated it to a place where it belongs: a high-flying, classic hard rock track,” he said.
The official video of the song featured the acclaimed actor Peter Stormare, known for roles in movies like The Big Lebowski, Armageddon, 8mm and Minority Report. “We always knew Peter loved rock music, and when his name came up it just felt right. We wanted to approach this from a different angle — something more stripped back and unexpected,” Tempest said.
