The Rolling Stones’ react to the death of Marianne Faithfull
Born in Hampstead, London, England back in 1946, Marianne Faithfull was a singer and actress known for her distinctive voice and melodic/high-registered vocals during the first years of her career.

An official statement via BBC announced that Marianne sadly passed away at the age of 78. “It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of the singer, songwriter and actress Marianne Faithfull. Marianne passed away peacefully in London today, in the company of her loving family. She will be dearly missed.”
Her connection with the Rolling Stones dates back to the 60s because she first achieved popularity after releasing the first version of “As Tears Go By”, track written by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Loog Oldham. Jagger also was her boyfriend from 1966 to 1970.
During her extensive career she released more than 20 studio albums and collaborated with many artists, including Metallica. She provided the backing vocals for their 1997 song “The Memory Remains”, also appearing in the music video.
