After launching a campaign to find a new singer and receiving thousands of audition videos from candidates, Skid Row chose Broadway star Justin Sargent. The singer made his debut in “Rock of Ages” in 2011 and also starred in other productions, including “Bonnie & Clyde” and “Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark”. The announcement comes with the release of a cover of The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again”, showcasing Sargent’s vocal power. Skid Row also announced 14 new tour dates for 2027, starting next March in the United States.
Bassist Rachel Bolan talked about the vocalist, saying: “Honestly, for me, it felt like he had been here from the beginning as soon as he walked in the room. He was one of us. A lifer. Then he sang with so much power and conviction, it blew me away. It was amazing.”
Justin Sargent also talked about joining the band: “I’ve been singing Skid Row songs for years, but never imagined I’d actually be joining the band! It’s an incredible honor to be part of something with such a legendary history. The chemistry and energy we’ve found together over the past several months has been amazing. I have tremendous respect for the band’s legacy, but I’m even more excited about what lies ahead. I can’t wait to get out there, connect with the fans, and give them everything I’ve got. Let’s go!”
I'm a Brazilian journalist who always loved Classic Rock and Heavy Metal music. That passion inspired me to create Rock and Roll Garage over 9 years ago. Music has always been a part of my life, helping me through tough times and being a support to celebrate the good ones. When I became a journalist, I knew I wanted to write about my passions. After graduating in journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, I pursued a postgraduate degree in digital communication at the same institution. The studies and experience in the field helped me improve the website and always bring the best of classic rock to the world! MTB: 0021377/MG
