“My heart is truly breaking at the news of Taylor’s passing. A sweetheart of a man that radiated good vibes, a love of music, and a total monster on the drums. He was so, so happy the night Alex and I came up onstage to play YYZ with him during the Foos show at the Air Canada Centre on March 23rd, 2008… His excitement was almost impossible for him to contain. And of course, he nailed it! Brother, you left us way, way too soon… rest in peace my friend… 💔”

Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin)

“On this day I learned the sad news that Taylor Hawkins had passed. I had seen and heard Taylor play the drums many times with @foofighters – he shone within his powerful role in the band. After the Led Zeppelin show at the O2, I was invited to play at Wembley Stadium with the Foo Fighters on 7th June 2008.

We played Rock and Roll with Taylor on turbocharged vocals and Dave on drums and then for Ramble On they swapped, with Taylor on drums and Dave Grohl on vocals. We put in some serious versions of these two songs. It was so good to play with him. I really admired him and he was a brilliant musician: his technique, his energy and spirited enthusiasm. On this sad day, I would like to send my condolences to his family, his band members in the Foos and his fans.”

“I got to know #TaylorHawkins thru both the Foo Fighters and his band Chevy Metal and was blessed to share the same stage with him a handful of times. Taylor drove both bands like a semi truck. There’s no one else like him. He was one of the great characters in Rock N Roll, beloved by all who knew him, and certainly one if the greatest drummers of his time. My band and I are devastated by this news and we will truly miss him. Much love from us to the Hawkins family and to the Foos and Chevy family.”
