Lou Gramm tells why he thinks Foreigner is not in the Rock Hall

Formed in New York City back in 1976 by British and American musicians, Foreigner became one of the best-selling groups of all time, with an estimated amount of more than 80 million records sold worldwide.

The band’s original singer Lou Gramm, who was a member from 1976 to 1990, from 1992 to 2003 and as a special guest in 2017 and 2018, said in an interview with “The Rock Shop With Ralph” (Transcribed by Blabbermouth) that the band is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame due to personal vendetta.

According to him, it is a problem between one of the founders of Rolling Stone magazine and the band’s guitarist Mick Jones.

Lou Gramm tells why he thinks Foreigner is not in the Rock Hall

“It’s not anything to do with our music or the amount of hits or notoriety or anything like that. It is a personal thing that we’re not in there. It’s a personal vendetta between the gentleman who owns Rolling Stone and Mick.”

“It’s very juvenile, the whole thing, and I don’t think it’s gonna get any better. I think it’s gonna stay that way. I think we’re being made an example of.”

“Of course I do. The original Foreigner. I put an exclamation point at the end of that (and it’s not something) we need to talk about,” Lou Gramm said.

The band is currently on their farewell tour across United States

The band is currently formed by Mick Jones (Guitar and keyboards), Jeff Pilson (Bass, keyboards), Kelly Hansen (Vocals), Michael Bluestein (Keyboards), Bruce Watson (Guitar), Chris Frazier (Drums) and Luis Maldonado (Guitar).

I'm a Brazilian journalist who always loved Classic Rock and Heavy Metal music. That passion inspired me to create Rock and Roll Garage over 6 years ago. Music has always been a part of my life, helping me through tough times and being a support to celebrate the good ones. When I became a journalist, I knew I wanted to write about my passions. After graduating in journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, I pursued a postgraduate degree in digital communication at the same institution. The studies and experience in the field helped me improve the website and always bring the best of classic rock to the world! MTB: 0021377/MG
