Kelly Osbourne thanks fans for their support after her father’s death

One week after Ozzy Osbourne‘s funeral, his daughter Kelly Osbourne released a message on her Instagram story to thank fans for the support after the musician’s death. She said the messages her family received helped her carry through the hardest moment of her life. She said that feeling that her feeling is not alone in their pain of losing Ozzy makes a difference.

“I’ve sat down to write this a hundred times and still don’t know if the words will ever feel like enough. But from the bottom of my heart, thank you. The love, support, and beautiful messages I’ve received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain.”

“Grief is a strange thing, it sneaks up on you in waves. I will not be ok for a while, but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy left behind. Thank you for being there. I love you all so much,” Kelly Osbourne said.

Ozzy Osbourne died last July 22 at the age of 76 after years dealing with health issues and Parkinson’s disease. Just a few weeks before he had performed the last concert of his solo career and the final one with Black Sabbath during the farewell festival “Back to the Beginning”, which happened at the Villa Park in Birmingham, the band’s hometown. It became the highest-grossing charity concert ever.

Besides the two headliners (Ozzy and Sabbath), many famous artists were part of the “tribute festival“, like Slayer, Metallica, Anthrax, Guns N’ Roses, Steven Tyler, Papa V Perpetua, Sammy Hagar, Jake E. Lee, Billy Corgan and Nuno Bettencourt.

The bands performed Black Sabbath and Ozzy covers, but also played some of their most famous songs in small sets, of 3 to 6 songs. Many covers from other bands were also performed, like the supergroup with Steven Tyler on vocals, which played, for example, Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love”. Ozzy Osbourne sang five songs of his solo career and four more with Black Sabbath.
