During the past few years, with the pandemic, changes in politics, and many wars happening around the world, the prices of almost everything have gone up, including the cost of bands touring and playing live. Eventually, those costs are reflected in concert ticket prices, but according to Bruce Dickinson, unlike many bands and artists, Iron Maiden fights to keep its tickets affordable because they do not want only “a bunch of very rich people standing in front of the stage.”
“The problem you have is that costs keep going up and everything else. But that’s not an excuse for doing crazy, crazy ticket prices. We’ve always tried to keep our ticket prices lower than the general norm because, frankly, we don’t want a bunch of very rich people standing in front of the stage.”
“We want real fans to be standing there, and they don’t always have loads of money. So it’s really important for us as a band to have that facility. We want young kids at the shows, and they don’t have loads of money. They’re gonna get their money from dad. But dad, these days, money’s tight. So it’s important to try and keep ticket prices within the bounds of reason,” he told MSN (Transcribed by Blabbermouth).
Iron Maiden has a really busy year ahead, as they are promoting their new documentary “Burning Ambition”, have many scheduled tour dates, and will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, although the band’s manager, Rod Smallwood, has already said they will not attend the ceremony because they will be in the middle of their tour.
I'm a Brazilian journalist who always loved Classic Rock and Heavy Metal music. That passion inspired me to create Rock and Roll Garage over 6 years ago. Music has always been a part of my life, helping me through tough times and being a support to celebrate the good ones. When I became a journalist, I knew I wanted to write about my passions. After graduating in journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, I pursued a postgraduate degree in digital communication at the same institution. The studies and experience in the field helped me improve the website and always bring the best of classic rock to the world! MTB: 0021377/MG
