Brian Johnson joined Slash on stage to perform “Killing Floor”

The legendary AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson joined the Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash on stage during the United Kingdom Sky Arts Awards to perform the Howlin’ Wolf track “Filling Floor”. The cover was part of the recent Slash Blues covers album “Orgy of The Damned” and Brian Johnson was the vocalist on that track. Curiously, in the studio, the Aerosmith vocalist Steven Tyler played the harmonica.

Written and recorded by Howlin’ Wolf in 1964, “Killing Floor” became one of the biggest Blues classics of all time. It was covered by countless artists over the decades and is called “one of the defining classics of Chicago electric Blues”. Curiously, Led Zeppelin adapted the song, transforming into “The Lemon Song”, later naming Howlin’ Wolf as a co-author.

Besides Wolf, also recorded the track Sumlin (Electric guitar), Lafayette Leake (Piano), Buddy Guy (Acoustic Guitar), Andrew “Blueblood” McMahon (Bass), Sam Lay (Drums), Arnold Rogers (Tenor sax) and Donald Hankins (Baritone sax).

Besides Brian Johnson, Slash’s new record also has names like Chris Robinson, Billy Gibbons, Iggy Pop, Paul Rodgers and Demi Lovato.
