Request for registration raises speculation about the end of KISS

Blabbermouth website found that on February 8, Kiss Catalog Ltd., owner of Kiss-related intellectual property rights, filed a curious application for registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), which manages patents in the United States. The request was submitted for the brand “The end of the road”.

If it is guaranteed, the registry protects the commercial use of the expression “The end of the road” in entertainment services. The right is guaranteed, in particular, in the field of “live performances of musical bands”.

The expression, self-explanatory, has caused many fans to speculate a possible end to Kiss after some farewell tour, which probably should come with the title “The end of the road.” Recently, vocalist and guitarist Paul Stanley told Billboard that he sees the band continuing without him.

If confirmed, the supposed last Kiss tour would be the second attempt to say “goodbye” to the public. The first was the “Farewell Tour”, performed between 2000 and 2001 with the original lineup – bassist and vocalist Gene Simmons, drummer Peter Criss and guitarist Ace Frehley, as well as Paul Stanley. The group, however, chose to follow their activities shortly afterwards with Tommy Thayer in place of Frehley and Eric Singer in Criss’s position.
