Rolling Stones confirms that new album has McCartney and more

The Rolling Stones recently shared “Angry”, the first single of their upcoming album “Hackney Diamonds” which will be out next October 20. It’s their first studio album in 18 years and they confirmed in an interview with New York Times that they had special guests like Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Elton John and the band’s original bassist Bill Wyman.

McCartney played the bass in a song called “Bite My Head Off”, Wonder (Keyboards) and Gaga (Vocals) appeared in the track “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” and Elton John played the piano in “Live By The Sword”, which also has the band’s original bassist Bill Wyman.

Curiously, McCartney and Elton had some feuds with the band in the past, with things said by them in the press about the Stones.

Mick Jagger talked about the new Rolling Stones album, saying:

“We do like four or five takes. ‘OK,’ and we move on. So no one had time to really think, ‘Well, was this a good song? Should we be doing this song?'”

“Because I get introspective, you know. Is this song as good as the other one? Is this song like another one I’ve done? You can figure that out later. Let’s keep moving,” Mick Jagger said.

The band’s last album was  “A Bigger Bang” released in 2005. This is the first album the band will release without their original drummer Charlie Watts, who paassed away at the age of 80 back in 2021, but there will be a few parts that were already recorded by him before his passing. The complete tracklist of the album still wasn’t revealed.

The new album was recorded at several places in the world, including: Henson Recording Studios, Los Angeles; Metropolis Studios, London; Sanctuary Studios, Nassau, Bahamas; Electric Lady Studios, New York; and The Hit Factory/Germano Studios, also in New York.

After the death of Charlie Watts in 2021, the band’s official members are only Mick Jagger (Vocals – Since 1962), Keith Richards (Guitar – Since 1962) and Ronnie Wood (Guitar – Since 1975).
