The Power Trip festival will happen next October with Guns N’ Roses, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Metallica and Tool at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Ozzy Osbourne (74) would also be part of the line-up but he announced that he will not be able to do the concert due to health issues.

His last full concert happened back in December, 2018 at Ozzfest and since then he has been struggling with many health issues that even made him announce his retirement last year. Now, the festival announced that Judas Priest will be the band that will replace him, playing before AC/DC in the saturday. The band already released an statement, saying: “Power Trippers are you ready for some Judas Priest style Heavy Metal!! Judas Priest are primed and proud to fly the flag for Heavy Metal at this prestigious festival. We are ready to raise double horns way up high together keeping the metal faith at this ‘bostin’ one of a kind Power Trip world event!”

Read the statement released by Ozzy Osbourne about canceling his show at Power Trip:

“As painful as this is, I’ve had to make the decision to bow out of performing on Power Trip in October. My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, and when the offer to do this show came in, I optimistically moved forward.”

“Unfortunately, my body is telling me that I’m just not ready yet and I am much too proud to have the first show that I do in nearly five years be half-assed. The band that will be replacing me on Power Trip will be announced shortly. They are personal friends of mine and I can promise that you will not be disappointed.”

Above all, I want to thank my fans, my band, and my crew for their unconditional loyalty and continual support. I love you all and I will see you soon. God Bless,” Ozzy Osbourne said.

Besides being a founding member and vocalist of Black Sabbath, Ozzy also constructed a very successful solo career. The sales of his era in Black Sabbath and his solo albums combined surpasse the number of more than 100 million copies sold worldwide.
