In an interview with CNBC back in 2017, Gene stated that the only thing that will make people rich is their actions and that they should spend their weekends wisely in order to be in a better financial situation: “When you’re young, work every day. Don’t take vacations unless you’re richer than I am.”
“To make the long story short, because you don’t have a lot of time on earth, you know, you wake up and then you’re gone, so you’re living outside New York. so that means you don’t have the same situation that she does (the host of the show), you walk down the street, business to business, you get to be on Fox, Wall Street is down there, Fashion Avenue is over there, so there is of hubbub and bub in New York city, lot of opportunity here. You live on the hills of Tennessee or in Davenport, how do you get more power?”
“Often you do, because the ‘the mountain will not come to Muhammad’, that’s an old phrase from the Middle East but is actually profoundly accurate. But you don’t have to nowadays, you’re handheld device (smartphone) has all the knowledge of mankind right there. ”
“Forget about 10 rules of success, because there are none, because if everybody followed those 10 rules we’d all be rich and millionaires. Don’t quit your day job. Start an LLC, a limited liability corporation. Take over one of the rooms in your house, get your kids involved, get your family involved.”
“Put up your computer and the internet and social media is the extension of your arms and legs. So marketing and sales is zero, doesn’t cost you anything and then you can do anything, be cretive come up with something people buy and then you can deduct the square footage of that room from your taxes.”
“Don’t hang out with losers—really—it’s called business … Don’t hang out with them, they are not going to help you go up the ladder of success. You will be judged by the company you keep—hang out with cooler, smarter, better looking people—it’s true. Dress like your boss.”
I'm a Brazilian journalist who always loved Classic Rock and Heavy Metal music. That passion inspired me to create Rock and Roll Garage over 6 years ago. Music has always been a part of my life, helping me through tough times and being a support to celebrate the good ones. When I became a journalist, I knew I wanted to write about my passions. After graduating in journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, I pursued a postgraduate degree in digital communication at the same institution. The studies and experience in the field helped me improve the website and always bring the best of classic rock to the world! MTB: 0021377/MG
