Tom Hamilton says Steven Tyler is recovering well from vocal injury
Aerosmith was in the middle of their farewell tour in 2023 when the frontman Steven Tyler suffered a vocal injury and they had to cancel the remaining tour dates. However, in 2024 the band announced they were retiring from the road due to Tyler’s injury.

No official statements by Steven or Aerosmith were released after that but the band’s bassist Tom Hamilton said in an interview with WBUR (Transcribed by Blabbermouth), that his bandmate is recovering well.

“Steven’s healing process is going really, really well, but it goes at its own pace. Maybe Aerosmith will do something in the future, but it’s a big ‘if’, and the last thing I want to be doing is to try and push Steven in that direction. If we do anything in the future, it would come from him,” Tom Hamilton.
The bass player is currently promoting his new band Close Enemies, which will release their new single “Sound of a Train” next January 17. The group is also formed by Trace Foster (Guitar), Peter Stroud (Guitar), Tony Brock (Drums) and Chasen Hampton (Vocals).
In a recent interview with Guitar World Hamilton talked about the band, saying: “It was a punch in the gut finding our touring days are over. Maybe someday we (Aerosmith) can do something again, but it won’t be a tour. I’ve been keeping busy playing in a band we’re calling Close Enemies. We’ve recorded a bunch of killer songs and we’re getting closer to deciding how we’re going to put it out. Can’t wait!” Tom Hamilton said.
