Steve Vai lends guitar to a fan who continues to play classic song at the show
The virtuoso guitarist Steve Vai (Frank Zappa, Alcatrazz, Whitesnake) created an incredible moment at this concert in Barcelona, Spain when in the middle of his classic song “For The Love God” he stopped playing and gave his guitar to a young fan called Daniel Jimenez who was in the audience. The boy took the guitar in tears thrilled by the moment and continued to play the song perfectly. The artist explained on his social networks that he saw the video of the teenager playing that song early that day when a cab driver who was taking him to the venue showed a video of the kid, who was his son playing the track.

“On the last show of the European Inviolate Tour on my way to the venue in Barcelona, there was an excited cab driver that wanted me to get into his car to take me to the venue. During the drive, he was very excited to show me a video clip of his son playing ‘For the Love of God’ and I was actually pretty impressed with the way this boy played.”
“During the concert that night, I saw the boy with his dad sitting in the audience, so I decided to make his day… and he certainly kicked some ass! It was a splendid way to cap off an outstanding tour,” Steve Vai said.
In his Instagram, the fan and guitarist Daniel Jimenez also recalled the moment, saying:
(Translated by Rock and Roll Garage) “Yesterday I lived the happiest day of my life, I’m still assimilating that it was real, thank you @stevevaihimself for inviting me to your concert, thank you for giving me the wonderful surprise of going on stage to play with your own guitar, when you approached me and you offered me your guitar I was in shock (I don’t know if you can see it in the video but I didn’t have the strength to continue playing because I started to cry from the illusion), and above all, thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to let me know you as a person and being able to chat with you about music, this day is going to be craved into my memories; you are a great musician and a great person, you are an example for me to follow.

I'm a Brazilian journalist who always loved Classic Rock and Heavy Metal music. That passion inspired me to create Rock and Roll Garage over 6 years ago. Music has always been a part of my life, helping me through tough times and being a support to celebrate the good ones. When I became a journalist, I knew I wanted to write about my passions. After graduating in journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, I pursued a postgraduate degree in digital communication at the same institution. The studies and experience in the field helped me improve the website and always bring the best of classic rock to the world! MTB: 0021377/MG
