Slash says Guns N’ Roses will take 2027 off the road to work on new music
Guitarist Slash said in an interview with Eddie Trunk that Guns N’ Roses will take 2027 off the road to work on new music. It’s something he and bassist Duff McKagan have been promising for a couple of years already. A few “new” songs have been released in the meantime, but they were reworked tracks left over from the sessions for “Chinese Democracy” (2008), the band’s latest album, which featured neither Slash nor McKagan, only Axl Rose.

“We’ll get done with (shows in India, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand this year), and next year basically Guns is off. But I’m hoping that, because we have so much material that we need to sort of, like, put together and start getting into that whole phase. So I’m hoping that’s what the next phase is gonna be.”
“We have so much material, and it’s all over the place, and it needs to… That’s one of the things that’s been hard to do, is the amount of time and focus it takes to sort of get all that material together and start working on it. It doesn’t work on the road. Writing on the road for me is easy, and I’m the only one that seem, seems to like to sort of sit up all night and do that. But Duff does his own thing, and Axl does his own thing. And so we’re all creating on the road just individually. But getting us together and trying to do that while you’re touring is next to impossible,” Slash said (Transcribed by Blabbermouth).
Slash will have a busy year since next February 26 his new album “Flying Blind”, with Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, will be released. He has scheduled tour dates in April, May, June and July.
