Director Joe Berlinger posted on Instagram the first image of James Hetfield as cop Bob Hayward, a character in the movie Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile. The production will mark the debut of the leader of Metallica interpreting a dramatic personage in the cinema.

In the image, Hetfield appears next to Berlinger and Zac Efron, chosen for the main paper, the one of serial killer Ted Bundy. Biographical production tells the story of the killer from the perspective of his girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer, who refused to believe who he was for years.
Theodore Robert Bundy was known for murdering countless women in the early 1970s. Before being executed, he confessed to 30 homicides in seven US states.
This will be Hetfield’s first dramatic role, but not his first work in film and television. Previously, he had already interpreted himself and been a narrator in some productions, as in the animations The Simpsons and American Dad.
