See David Lee Roth covering Billy Joel’s “New York State of Mind”

David Lee Roth is on the road, and besides playing Van Halen material, he has decided to add a cover of Billy Joel’s classic song, “New York State of Mind,” released on his 1976 album “Turnstiles”.

He recently revealed in an interview with Associated Press that he sold his publishing catalog for a good amount of money last year and is feeling rich. “I sold my publishing eight months ago. Ask me how I feel… (I feel) rich. (Laughs) For the first time in my life I can rub two coins together and create a little inter,” he said. After a few years away from the stage he returned last year and continues to tour across the United States in 2026.

I'm a Brazilian journalist who always loved Classic Rock and Heavy Metal music. That passion inspired me to create Rock and Roll Garage over 6 years ago. Music has always been a part of my life, helping me through tough times and being a support to celebrate the good ones. When I became a journalist, I knew I wanted to write about my passions. After graduating in journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, I pursued a postgraduate degree in digital communication at the same institution. The studies and experience in the field helped me improve the website and always bring the best of classic rock to the world! MTB: 0021377/MG
