William Shatner has done almost everything he could during his career, from playing Captain Kirk on the “Star Trek” series to indirectly becoming the face of Michael Myers in the “Halloween” franchise and more recently becoming one of the first civilians to go to space. Now at the age of 95, he decided to do a Heavy Metal record with many special guests and he just revealed one of them is the Metal God himself, Rob Halford.
The British vocalist will be part of Shatner’s cover of Judas Priest‘s classic song “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin'”. The record is currently in production and still has no name or release date.
“I’ve always been drawn to the energy and storytelling of heavy metal. Working with Rob on this track brings that intensity to life in a way that feels both timeless and entirely new,” William Shatner said.
“One life I’m gonna live it up!’ William Shatner is boldly doing that more than ever, and I am honored to reinforce this message with him — ‘taking flight I said I’ll never get enough!'” Rob Halford said.
Shatner’s musical career started in 1968, with the release of his debut “The Transformed Man”. During the past five years he released four studio albums, with many special guests like Canned Heat, Joe Walsh, Ritchie Blackmore and Zakk Wylde.
I'm a Brazilian journalist who always loved Classic Rock and Heavy Metal music. That passion inspired me to create Rock and Roll Garage over 6 years ago. Music has always been a part of my life, helping me through tough times and being a support to celebrate the good ones. When I became a journalist, I knew I wanted to write about my passions. After graduating in journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, I pursued a postgraduate degree in digital communication at the same institution. The studies and experience in the field helped me improve the website and always bring the best of classic rock to the world! MTB: 0021377/MG
