Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford said the current metal scene is in good hands and insists the genre will not disappear soon.

“It depends on what you understand as success. How do you define it? Is success a platinum album? Is it filling Madison Square Garden (famous home of concerts in the United States)? Popularity, disks sold? I do not know, but it does not matter to me. Metal will always be there. There will always be a new band. There’s probably a band in England that I do not even know, either in Germany, Japan or South America. That’s the emotion. ”
Asked if the Metal scene is currently at a good level, Halford added, “Definitely. There is always a new generation out there.
But the cool thing, watching it over the decades, is that people always return to the source, to the roots of Heavy Metal, to Black Sabbath, to Judas Priest. ”
