After releasing a new song every full moon in 2023, the ex-Genesis vocalist Peter Gabriel finally revealed the release date and tracklist of his new album “i/o”, which will be out next December 1st and will have 12 songs. “After a years-worth of full moon releases, I’m very happy to see all these new songs back together on the good ship i/o and ready for their journey out into the world,” Peter Gabriel said.

Most part of the new album was recorded at Real World Studios and at Peter’s home studio. Among the musicians who contributed for the album are David Rhodes, Tony Levin, Manu Katché, Brian Eno, Richard Russell, Tom Cawley, Josh Shpak, Paolo Fresu, Linnea Olsson and Don E.

All the 12 tracks of the album are subject of two stereo mixes: the bright-side mix and the dark-side mix. “We have two of the greatest mixers in the world in Tchad and Spike and they definitely bring different characters to the songs. Tchad is very much a sculptor building a journey with sound and drama, Spike loves sound and assembling these pictures, so he’s more of a painter,” Peter Gabriel said.

The musician is already on the road for months promoting the new album and already performed in Europe and in North America. His final 2023 tour dates will happen on October 19 at the American Arlines Center in Dallas, Texas and next October 21 at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. There are no scheduled tour dates for 2024 yet.

I'm a Brazilian journalist who always loved Classic Rock and Heavy Metal music. That passion inspired me to create Rock and Roll Garage over 6 years ago. Music has always been a part of my life, helping me through tough times and being a support to celebrate the good ones. When I became a journalist, I knew I wanted to write about my passions. After graduating in journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, I pursued a postgraduate degree in digital communication at the same institution. The studies and experience in the field helped me improve the website and always bring the best of classic rock to the world! MTB: 0021377/MG
