Peter Frampton explains why Roger Daltrey inducted him into the Hall of Fame
Working as a musician since 1966, the British guitarist and singer Peter Frampton was finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024. “My very first big show was opening for the Who, so it made perfect sense. He’s known me since the very beginning. He was around when all of that craziness went on because of Keith (Moon) and John (Entwistle).”
“Of course, it was like going to rock and roll college for me. So yeah, it was wonderful. He’s the nicest man and he’s never changed. He’s always been the same. I love Roger and I was so thrilled he could do it,” Peter Frampton said.
During his speech in the ceremony, Daltrey praised Peter Frampton saying: “He’s always been a restless soul, but he stayed true to his main love, the guitar”.
Frampton was diagnosed a few years ago with Inclusion-Body Myositis, which is a degenerative muscle disease that eventually will affect his ability to play the guitar.
In 2022 the musician finished his farewell tour because he believed that he wouldn’t be able to tour anymore in the following years but only a few months after those final shows he decided to return to the road since he was still feeling good.
