Peter Frampton announces new album and releases first single
Peter Frampton announced “Carry The Light”, his first studio album of original songs in 16 years. The first single “Buried Treasure” is already available and features keyboardist Benmont Tench of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. The track is a tribute to Petty, and the title is inspired by the SiriusXM radio show the late musician hosted for 15 years.
“It was one of my most enjoyable projects ever. I got to work with my son Julian, writing and producing together – a first of many for us, I’m sure,” Peter Frampton said. The record will be out next May 15 and also has other special guests like Graham Nash, Tom Morello, Sheryl Crow, H.E.R. and Bill Evans.

Frampton’s most recent album was the phenomenal instrumental “Frampton Forgets the Words”, released in 2021. So far he has released 18 studio albums and four live records, including “Frampton Comes Alive!” (1976), which to this day is one of the best-selling live albums of all time.
He was diagnosed a few years ago with Inclusion-Body Myositis, which is a degenerative muscle disease that eventually will affect his ability to play the guitar. In 2022 the musician finished his farewell tour because he believed that he wouldn’t be able to tour anymore in the following years but only a few months after those final shows he decided to return to the road since he was still feeling good.
