Misfits, which has been on a reunion tour since 2018, announced a show at Madison Square Garden in New York. The performance takes place on October 19 and features the bands Rancid and The Damned.
Tickets will be pre-sold from July 15, next Monday, at 10am local time. The code to get yours is “MSG138”. General sales start on July 19th, next Friday.
Despite the good news, it seems that the band’s tour should not last long.
Days after a document confirms that the concert tour is just a contractual obligation of the group, Glenn Danzig reinforced the information that the “joke” will end soon.
The Misfits still play in Las Vegas, Denver, Oakland and Seattle before closing in New York.
The band
Misfits are an American punk rock band often recognized as the progenitors of the horror punk subgenre, blending punk and other musical influences with horror film themes and imagery. Founded in 1977 in Lodi, New Jersey, the original lineup consisted of vocalist, songwriter and keyboardist Glenn Danzig, bassist Jerry Only, and drummer Manny Martínez.
Danzig and Only were the only consistent members throughout the next six years, during which they released several EPs and singles, and with Only’s brother Doyle as guitarist, the albums Walk Among Us (1982) and Earth A.D./Wolfs Blood (1983), both considered touchstones of the early-1980s hardcore punk movement.
