Judas Priest plays without bassist Ian Hill due to injury

Judas Priest performed without original bassist Ian Hill at their show at the Eventim Apollo in London last September 22, after he was forced to sit out due to a “badly damaged tendon in his left arm.” To replace him, the band recruited longtime Uriah Heep bassist Dave Rimmer.

The band announced on the day of the show that Hill wouldn’t be able to perform, saying: “Ian has a badly damaged tendon in his left arm so unfortunately he won’t be able to play at our Hammersmith Apollo Eventim show on Monday 21st September. Our good friend Davey Rimmer (Uriah Heep) will be playing with us so the show will go on. Ian sends his grateful appreciation to our fans for your caring and understanding.”

Besides Ian, Judas Priest’s current line-up has Rob Halford (Vocals), Andy Sneap (Guitar), Richie Faulkner (Guitar) and Scott Travis (Drums). Glenn Tipton is still a member of the band but doesn’t tour due to Parkinson’s disease.

This was Judas Priest’s final 2026 live performance and the only two scheduled dates the band has are next June at Tons of Rock festival in Oslo, Norway and July on Tuska Festival at Helsinki, Finland. They continue to promote their latest album “Invincible Shield”, released last 2024.
