Brian May already collaborated with a big number of soundtracks during his career, having played on 1996 versions of “Pinnochio” and then in the Alexandre Aja post-apocalyptic movie “Furia”, released in 1999. With Queen he had been part of two classic movies which became much better with their songs: “Flash Gordon” (1980) and “Highlander” (1986).
Brian’s wife recently said in an interview with The Mirror that Queen won’t do big tours anymore. According to her, the decision comes after her husband’s health scare last year, when he revealed he had suffered a minor stroke. Initially, he was unable to use his left arm, but since then he has regained the necessary movement to play music again. This occurred four years after the musician had experienced a “small” heart attack.
Queen’s most recent concert was in 2024 in Tokyo, Japan. Since the late 90s, the only active members of the band have been Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor (76). Bassist John Deacon retired from public life in 1997 and has not performed or recorded again since then. Since 2011, the band’s vocalist has been American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert.
