Hear Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s first song in 40 years
Formed in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada back in 1973 by the Bachman brothers Randy (Previous member of The Guess Who), Robbie and Tim with their friend Fred Turner, Bachman-Turner Overdrive became one of the most influential Rock and Roll bands of all time.
The group was first active from 1973 to 1980, reuniting in 1983 and then only in 2005. Their most recent album is “Bachman–Turner Overdrive” released back in 1984. But now, more than four decades later, the band which has only Randy and Fred nowadays released a brand new song called “60 Years Ago”. The track has a special guitar solo recorded by Neil Young.
“As a thank-you to Winnipeg, the city that shaped us, I wrote a song called ’60 Years Ago.This song is our tribute to Winnipeg, the place where we grew up as teenagers in the ’60s, a time when the city’s music scene was exploding. It was the Liverpool of North America, a melting pot of incredible talents.
“Everyone I’ve talked to who spent time in Winnipeg and witnessed that musical explosion is excited to hear this song, and I hope you all enjoy it as much as we enjoyed creating it,” Randy Bachman said.
