Gene Simmons tells why he’s charging $12K for fans to be his roadie

The Kiss co-founder, bassist and singer Gene Simmons recently announced a special VIP package for his solo shows which is called: “Personal Assistant and Band Roadie for the Day”. If a fan wants to pay $12,495 dollars for that, he will be able to do a lot of things only authorized personnel can (see the details below).

A lot of people criticized that kind of package and now, in an interview with New York Post, Simmons explains why he announced this kind of experience.

“When I was a kid and went to see shows, I was always curious, ‘What’s it like when they’re in a hotel? What’s it like when the stage is set up? What’s it like being onstage when they’re performing and seeing the audience from the stage?'”

“I decided, ‘You know what, nobody’s ever done it. Why not open the idea to be my personal roadie for the day?’ You meet at the hotel where you have breakfast together or, you know, whatever floats your boat”.

“You ride with me to the gig. You can set up amplifiers and drums to your heart’s content. You’re onstage, right offstage to my right. You can video the crowds, whatever. And I pull you onstage to sing a song with me,” Gene Simmons explained.

The musician recently announced the postponement of many April solo tour dates to 2026. Kiss will reunite again this year. They band will perform, unmasked, at the three-day Kiss Army Storms Vegas event, which will happen next November 14 to 16 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
