Geezer Butler says he and Ozzy are on good terms again

During the last year, Geezer Butler revealed that his wife Gloria and Ozzy’s wife/manager Sharon Osbourne were not speaking to each other and that made both Sabbath colleagues to not talk to each other regularly anymore. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Ozzy even said that he was upset that Butler didn’t sent him a message, after some health scares, to ask him how he was feeeling.

But now in an interview with Eddie Trunk (Transcribed by Blabbermouth), Butler revealed that he did sent a lot of messages to Ozzy but they were not being delivered to the singer. So now he explained that the miscommunication issue was resolved and they are on good terms again. The bassist also said that like Tony Iommi and Ozzy, he would totally be part of a final Black Sabbath show featuring the original drummer Bill Ward, since the musician wasn’t part of their farewell tour.

“Of course there’s an interest (of doing a final Sabbath show, on my part). But there’s a big ‘but’. You’d have to speak to Bill about it. Everybody wants to do it. (But I don’t know if he is) capable (doing it).”

He was then asked if he believed Bill would be able to play the drums in the studio or during a show. Geezer said: “I don’t think so. Maybe, I don’t know. I mean, the way technical things happen these days, maybe a couple of songs. But who knows? There wouldn’t be any traveling involved. We wouldn’t be actually all in the studio at the same time together. So it could be done that way — maybe”.

“Ozzy was hoping to finish it all off next year back in Aston, at the Aston Villa (Football stadium in Aston, Birmingham). I’m definitely up for it, to finish the whole thing off. Me and Ozzy have agreed, but I’m not sure about anybody else.”

About talking to Ozzy and being on good terms again, Geezer said:

“Every day practically (I talk to him). There was a lot of miscommunication. He didn’t think I was asking about his health ’cause I know he’s been going through a lot of health problems. I was sending all these messages to him and they weren’t being passed on to him. So he thought I was just ignoring him.”

“And then the weird way I had to go through Sabbath’s accountant to tell Ozzy I’d sent him all these things. ‘Cause he did this thing in Rolling Stone saying that I hadn’t been in touch with him about his health. So I went through the accountant. (Then) he got in touch with Ozzy and said, ‘He’s just been sending you stuff. He wants to talk to you.’ And we’ve been fine since that,” Geezer Butler said.

During the same interview the bassist and songwriter said that Bill Ward doesn’t use email. Butler doesn’t like to talk on the phone, so he usually send the e-mails to Ward’s wife, who then passes on to him.

He also said that still plays the bass everyday. Because instead of going to gym, for example, he goes to his studio and plays.
