David Lee Roth is back from retirement and will headline festival
The Van Halen vocalist David Lee Roth retired from live shows a few years ago but now he will return as one of the headliners of M3 Festival, which will also have a partial Ratt reunion, with Stephen Pearcy and Warren De Martini.
David Lee Roth will be the headliner on Saturday, May 3 at Columbia, Maryland’s Merriweather Post Pavilion. It will be his first official concert since 2020, when he was the opening act for Kiss during their farewell tour. In 2022 he has launched a farewell residency in Las Vegas but the shows were canceled due to the Pandemic. Since then he had played in some private events and posted many new songs and covers on his Youtube channel.
The partial Ratt reunion, with Pearcy and Martini, will headline the festival on Sunday, May 4, also at Columbia, Maryland’s Merriweather Post Pavilion. It will be the first time the two musicians play together since 2018. Until now, the other two surviving members of the band: Juan Crocier (Bass) and Bobby Blotzer (Drums) were not mentioned as being part of the show.
Stephen Pearcy talked about the show, saying: “Never say never, right? There was no question when the idea was brought up doing something with Warren again. It wasn’t even a thought, it’s time, let’s do this. Pearcy and De Martini back in the cellar, let’s go!”
He continued:
“Let’s break the ice, with the utmost respect and do what we do best together, play RATT music. It’ll seem like yesterday instead of years when we’re back onstage regardless. It’s time to RATT n’ Roll again, even if it’s a double shot. It’s about the band’s legacy.”
“I know what we can do as a team, and that’s writing great songs and Kickin’ some ass onstage. It’s only appropriate that the first show in years be at M3 2025. It’s a great event. You’re getting ALL the RATT hits and more, let the ‘Invasion Celebration’ begin. Never say never, right”? Stephen Pearcy said.
