As support for the release of his autobiographical book ‘What Does This Button Do?’, Iron Maiden’s vocalist Bruce Dickinson made a special guest appearance on The Project’s TV show to talk about the book’s promotion tour.

“What I do basically is a one man show. It started as a promotion for the book and the producer said, ‘Let’s rent a little theater and you read a little’ and I thought, ‘Wow, what a stupid thing!’
And i like it! I returned to the Edinburgh Festival and then spent a good time in Scandinavia. Now I’m in Greece and Israel and a bit more of Scandinavia and I ended up getting more shows.”
“Unlike some bands, we like our fans. And so, everything we do, we do seriously, but at the same time we do not take ourselves so seriously. It’s a nice balance to have.”
The book turns his unbridled creativity, passion, and anarchic humour to reveal some fascinating stories from his life, including his thirty years with Maiden, his solo career, his childhood within the eccentric British school system, his early bands, fatherhood and family, and his recent battle with cancer.
Bold, honest, intelligent and very funny, his memoir is an up-close look inside the life, heart, and mind of one of the most unique and interesting men in the world; a true icon of rock.

I'm a Brazilian journalist who always loved Classic Rock and Heavy Metal music. That passion inspired me to create Rock and Roll Garage over 6 years ago. Music has always been a part of my life, helping me through tough times and being a support to celebrate the good ones. When I became a journalist, I knew I wanted to write about my passions. After graduating in journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, I pursued a postgraduate degree in digital communication at the same institution. The studies and experience in the field helped me improve the website and always bring the best of classic rock to the world! MTB: 0021377/MG
