On July 5, Black Sabbath will play the final concert of their career with the original lineup. The event will also celebrate Ozzy Osbourne’s solo career and will feature many special guests. The show will take place at Villa Park in Birmingham and is already sold out. However, the band has announced that fans will be able to watch the performance from anywhere via a pay-per-view stream. But these digital tickets won’t be cheap: they’re priced at £24.99 for viewers in the UK and $29.99 for fans in the USA.
The tickets can be bought on www.backtothebeginning.com but the show won’t be actually live, since the website says: “In order for Ozzy fans around the world to experience this monumental event, the livestream will be delayed 2 hours from the in-arena start time. The stream will begin: 3:00pm BST, 10:00am EDT, 7:00am PDT. The stream opens 30 minutes prior to start.” The show will be available for the fans who buy the ticket during the next 48 hours.
But as Ozzy himself said, Black Sabbath won’t play a full set, they might perform together only a few songs and the rest will probably have some of the original members with other artists like those ones.
The all-day event will also feature a supergroup of musicians. Artists announced so far include Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins), David Draiman (Disturbed), Duff McKagan & Slash (Guns N’ Roses), Frank Bello (Anthrax), Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit), Jake E. Lee, KK Downing, Lzzy Hale (Halestorm), Mike Bordin (Faith No More), Rudy Sarzo, Sammy Hagar, Scott Ian (Anthrax), Sleep Token II (Sleep Token), Papa V Perpetua (Ghost), Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine) and Zakk Wylde.
