Watch David Byrne performing Bowie’s “Heroes” with choir

This month musician David Byrne partnered with Choir! Choir! Choir! for a performance at the Under The Radar festival in New York.

At the time, the artists made a beautiful tribute to David Bowie with a cover of the classic “Heroes”. Although records made by fans were already available online, an official clip for the new version of the track has just been shared.

In a statement, Byrne commented on the collaboration with the choir:

“There is a transcendent feeling of being subordinate and surrendering to a group. This applies to sports, military exercises, dances … and group singing. A person becomes part of something greater than himself, and something within us gratifies us when it happens. We cling to our individuality, but we experience pure bliss when we abandon it. So the rewarding experience is part of the show”.

It is worth remembering that Byrne will be releasing a new studio album, titled American Utopia, on March 9th.
