Eric Clapton
Eric Patrick Clapton CBE (Ripley, March 30, 1945) is a British guitarist, singer and songwriter born in England. Nicknamed Slowhand, he is considered one of the best guitarists in Rock history.
In his musical style with varied throughout his career, Clapton always had its roots linked to the blues. Clapton was considered innovative by critics in several distinct phases of his career, having achieved both critical and public success and having several songs listed among the most popular of all time, such as “Layla”, “Wonderful Tonight” and the re-recording “I Shot the Sheriff” by Bob Marley.
In 2004 he was awarded the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).
