Cheap Trick explains why they canceled their 2027 tour
Cheap Trick toured extensively in 2026 but announced that they would take an indefinite break from touring in 2027. They canceled some previously scheduled shows, and the band has now explained why they decided to take time off. After many fans expressed concern that someone in the group might be facing health issues, the band released a statement explaining that they simply need a break — their first in 50 years.
Cheap Trick explains why they canceled their 2027 tour
“Many thanks to everyone who has expressed concern for us. To clear things up, we’ve decided to take some time off after decades of touring because we need a break. Not for health reasons. We’ll play our November shows and then take our first break in 50 years. Thank you for all your support!” the band said.
The band is currently formed by Rick Nielsen (Guitar), Tom Petersson (Bass) and Robin Zander (Vocals, guitar). They are accompanied by Nielsen’s and Zander’s sons: Daxx Nielsen (Drums) and Robin Taylor Zander (Guitar).
