Saxon announces first 2027 tour dates

Saxon will release “Gods of Thunder,” their 27th studio album, next year and has already announced the first tour dates in support of the record. All the announced shows are scheduled for March in Europe, with the band set to perform in Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Czechia, Hungary, Switzerland, Italy and the Netherlands.

The band is currently formed by Biff Byford (Vocals), Nigel Glocker (Drums), Nibbs Carter (Bass), Doug Scarratt (Guitar) and Brian Tatler (Guitar – also known for being a member of Diamond Head). Their new album will be released next January 22. According to vocalist Biff Byford, the album is “is a mighty tale of Celtic mythology, packed with the spirit and power of true heavy metal. Turn it up and bang your head! We had great fun making this album. This is gonna be one to beat!”

Last year Saxon had to cancel some tour dates and vocalist Biff Byford later explained that he needed emergency surgery after an MRI scan revealed he had bowel cancer. “Hi, it’s Biff here from Saxon. I wanna keep you up to date on what’s happening with my health and why we’ve had to cancel some shows.”

“So, yeah, I got sick and, obviously, as you know, I had a heart problem. So this time it wasn’t my heart. I went for an MRI scan on my prostate gland before I went to America a few months ago, which was okay, but they found a shadow, a tumor, a small tumor, which they didn’t know was there. So, that’s why I had to have an operation done really quickly on the 8th of July,” he said last year.
