Saxon has been remarkably prolific in recent years, releasing four studio albums since 2020. The band is currently working on another record, which guitarist Brian Tatler revealed will be titled “Gods of Thunder”. In an interview with Neil Jones, he confirmed that the album is expected to be released next year. It’s the same name of the tour they announced in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The band said that their iconic 30-foot mechanized Eagle will be part of the stage production at all of their United Kingdom shows except the one in Wales, due to venue restrictions. They also revealed that fans can expect the return of their classic “Castles & Eagles” stage production.
The band is currently formed by Biff Byford (Vocals), Nigel Glocker (Drums), Nibbs Carter (Bass), Doug Scarratt (Guitar) and Brian Tatler (Guitar – also known for being a member of Diamond Head).
