John Fogerty announces new 2025 tour dates

Two years ago, after decades of struggle, legendary Creedence Clearwater Revival vocalist and guitarist John Fogerty finally bought back his publishing rights. The battle began more than 50 years ago, when the band signed with Fantasy Records, which was owned by Saul Zaentz. Now reunited with his songs, he re-recorded some of his most famous Creedence Clearwater Revival tracks for his new album: “Legacy: The Creedence Clearwater Revival Years”.

To promote the record he announced new tour dates of the “Legacy” tour across the United States.

In an interview with The Guardian the musician recalled how losing the rights to his songs affected him.“I never really thought I had a nervous breakdown, but I would say I was not well. Not stable, or even-keeled, or normal.”

“It would manifest itself in strange ways: I remember going into a department store to buy some socks, and I was unable to approach the salesperson because it was far too complicated for me. It sounds pathetic. I guess I might have seen a shrink, but I was in the middle of the stream swimming and just trying to keep my head above water.”

“I tried to be nice, I tried to be humble, but there were times when I would explode. That could come out if I was near people, or even if I was quite alone. It happened a few times when I was alone in the wilderness, fishing, and I’d just go off into a rage about my gear,” John Fogerty said.

I'm a Brazilian journalist who always loved Classic Rock and Heavy Metal music. That passion inspired me to create Rock and Roll Garage over 6 years ago. Music has always been a part of my life, helping me through tough times and being a support to celebrate the good ones. When I became a journalist, I knew I wanted to write about my passions. After graduating in journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, I pursued a postgraduate degree in digital communication at the same institution. The studies and experience in the field helped me improve the website and always bring the best of classic rock to the world! MTB: 0021377/MG
