Ozzy Osbourne has been facing a lot of health issues during the past years and dealing with Parkinson’s disease. That forced him to cancel his tour dates before the pandemic and since then he made only a few special appearances singing a few songs and recording two studio albums.
It was recently announced Black Sabbath‘s final show with the original line-up that besides Ozzy has Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward. It will be the first time they play together in 20 years, since Ward was not part of their reunion in the 2010s. The singer will also do a few solo songs with special guests before the headlining show. However, Ozzy now revealed in an interview on his SiriusXM show “Ozzy Speaks” that he won’t do a full set with Sabbath.
“I’m not planning on doing a set with Black Sabbath but I am doing little bits and pieces with them. I am doing what I can, where I feel comfortable. I am trying to get back on my feet. When you get up in the morning, you just jump out of bed. I have to balance myself, but I’m not dead. I’m still actively doing things,” Ozzy Osbourne said.
More special guests were announced. Some of them are: Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Rival Sons, Andrew Watt, Dave Ellefson, Vernon Reid, Whitfield Crane and the actor Jason Momoa as the host. Other previously announced acts are Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Pantera, Alice in Chains, Slash, Sammy Hagar, KK Downing, Jake E. Lee, Papa V Perpetua (Ghost), Rudy Sarzo, Tom Morello and Wolfgang Van Halen.
The show will happen next July 5 at the Villa Park in Birmingham, the city were the band was formed. The concert’s revenue will go to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Acorn Children’s Hospice, and Cure Parkinson’s.
