Ex-Ozzy guitarist Jake E. Lee was shot multiple times in Las Vegas

The former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee was shot multiple times on tuesday, October 15 in Las Vegas, Nevada. According to his publicist, he is fully conscious at the intensive care unit and is expected to fully recover. The authorities believe the shooting was completetly random and happened when the guitarist took his dog out for a walk in the early mourning hours. According to radio host Eddie Trunk, Lee was shot in the chest, arm and foot.

“Update on Jake E Lee. He was hit 3 times. He was hit in the chest , arm and foot. Bullets missed all major organs except lung. But he is doing well and expected to make a full recovery. This info direct from his manager who I just spoke with. Got very lucky thankfully!” Eddie Trunk said.

“As confirmed by management, legendary rock guitarist Jake E. Lee was shot multiple times early this morning in a Las Vegas street shooting,” reads the statement. “Lee is fully conscious and doing well in an intensive care unit at a Las Vegas hospital. He is expected to fully recover.”

“Las Vegas authorities believe the shooting was completely random and occurred while Lee took his dog out for a walk in the early morning hours. As the incident is under police investigation, no further comments will be forthcoming. Lee and his family appreciate respecting their privacy at this time.”

Lee was facing many health issues during the past years that prevented him from playing live. The 67 year-old guitarist was born in Nortfolk, Virginia and started his musical career in 1980. He first achieved fame after he became a member of Ozzy Osbourne’s band in 1982, not long after the tragic death of the guitarist Randy Rhoads.

With the former Black Sabbath vocalist, he recorded two praised studio albums: “Bark at The Moon” (1983) and “Ultimate Sin” (1986). After that he recorded with groups like Badlands, Wicked Alliance, Mickey Ratt, Enuff Z’Nuff and Red Dragon Cartel.
