AC/DC was finally on stage again after 8 years in Indio, California at the Power Trip Festival, which also had Tool, Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. The Australian group played one day before Metallica but the band members were there the previous day to watch Judas and AC/DC. The band’s drummer and co-founder Lars Ulrich talked in an interview with Eddie Trunk (Transcribed by Blabbermouth) about the feeling of seing them again on stage.

He recalled he had the chance to see them many times over the decades, including when they were Black Sabbath’s opening act in the late 70s in Denmark.

“As a lifelong fan, I actually got a little misty-eyed a couple of times when Angus was kind of going out and you could hear the… When he walked out and played his solos on the ramp and stuff, it felt like people were sort of holding him up and really just loving him, appreciating him. And there was a unity.”
“I’m actually getting misty eyed as we’re talking about it. There was a unity and it’s that unity that you and I have talked about and that thing about when this community comes together around what we all share, that it was just such a beautiful moment. It was just such a triumph.”
“And Brian who looked like — I didn’t feel like there was anybody anywhere in Southern California that was having a better time than Brian… That shit-eating grin he had on his face. It was so great. What a wonderful moment,” Lars Ulrich said.
There is still no information if the band will schedule more shows around the world but rumours are already starting as many big festivals are trying to convince them to play. One of the most recent informations is that the Brazilian festival Rock in Rio is interested in AC/DC for their 2024 edition.
