Paul Stanley doesn’t agree that Rock and Roll is dead
Over the years the Kiss bassist and singer Gene Simmons had said many times that in his opinion Rock and Roll music is dead. The reason would be that the fans were the responsible ones because of all the illegal downloads of albums that started in the late 90s and made the band loose the most big part of their profit, because people stopped paying for music. That makes the new bands that can’t rely on the profit of albums, have much more difficulty in the early days. But his bandmate, the guitarist and singer Paul Stanley doesn’t agree with that claim.

In an interview with Classic Rock he said that the mainstream music always change from time to time and that his son’s band are getting great crowds.

“It’s a great soundbite (to say Rock is dead), but that’s about all it is. My son Evan is playing all around Los Angeles with a rock band that kicks ass and is getting great crowds, with beautiful models coming, and that’s proof to me that rock’s not dead.”
“The music that is most popular to mainstream tastes changes over time, and it ebbs and flows. There’s a lot of rock music being made right now, and some of it may be too derivative to really stake a claim and take it to the next level, but it will happen, it will happen. But the next big rock band won’t be huge because it sounds like a band from the past, it will have its own voice,” Paul Stanley said.
Formed in 1973 in New York City, Kiss is one of the biggest Rock and Roll bands from the United States and one of the best-selling groups of all time. They have sold an estimated amount of more than 100 million records worldwide.
The group is currently on their farewell tour that will perform in South America, North America and Europe this year.
