Roger Waters says Gilmour and Wright were always dragging him down
Ex-Pink Floyd bassist and singer Roger Waters said in an interview WTF podcast (Via UG) that guitarist/singer David Gilmour and the late keyboardist Richard Wright were always trying to bringing him down when he was in the band.

Roger Waters said about Gilmour and Wright always trying to drag him down:
“Getting away from Pink Floyd, I think. I’m serious, I think it was really important that I got away when I did.”
Because what did you realize and that you had gotten stuck in a specific…
“Well, I was in a very toxic environment where I was around some people… Well, David (Gilmour) and Rick (Richard Wright) mainly were always trying to drag me down. They were always trying to knock me off.”
Your own artistic vision?
“Yeah, kind of….”
How would they do that?
“By claiming that I was tone-deaf and that I didn’t understand music. ‘Oh, he’s just a boring teacher figure who tells us what to do but he can’t tune his own guitar…’ They were very snotty and snippy because they felt very insignificant, I think.”
At that point?
“I think so, yeah. And I’m not putting them down. Those years that we were together, whatever it was like socially, there is no question but that we did some really good work together.”
And you all shared the vision
“We didn’t share the vision but we shared the work.”
It was your vision, most of it?
“I wouldn’t say that. But, yeah, it was.”
Pink Floyd
Formed in London back in 1964, Pink Floyd was one of the first British psychedelic bands. They were known by their philosophical lyrics, elaborate shows and experimentation, even at the beginning of their career when Syd Barrett was still in the band.
The group was founded by Syd Barrett (Guitar and vocals), Roger Waters (Bass and vocals), Nick Mason (Drums), Richard Wright (Keyboards) and Bob Klose (Guitar). Klose quit the band one year later in 1965.
With Barrett they released two charting singles and the successful album “The Piper At The Gates of Dawn” in 1967. Guitarist David Gilmour joined the fold in 1967 and 1968 Barrett left the band due to his deteriorating mental health.
