More specifically, the American group has great similarities with Led Zeppelin’s British, and vocalist Josh Kiszka has been consistently compared to Robert Plant, so much so that he has joked about it.
In an interview with Q103, drummer Jason Bonham (John Bonham’s son) said he fears for the future of the band because of comparisons that he says don’t reflect reality.
“I got an alert, because there was all the Led Zeppelin toss involved. I would be annoyed if I were Robert [Plant]. I would be annoyed if they said he sounds like Robert.
Robert don’t sound like that. Robert was wonderful, and still is, but when he was young, his voice was much better, from a truly differentiated level.
Just because he does treble and puts his hand on his belt, I worry about the hype that the band is winning and that this will ruin them. I wish them all the best.”
I'm a Brazilian journalist who always loved Classic Rock and Heavy Metal music. That passion inspired me to create Rock and Roll Garage over 6 years ago. Music has always been a part of my life, helping me through tough times and being a support to celebrate the good ones. When I became a journalist, I knew I wanted to write about my passions. After graduating in journalism from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais, I pursued a postgraduate degree in digital communication at the same institution. The studies and experience in the field helped me improve the website and always bring the best of classic rock to the world! MTB: 0021377/MG
