The website Pearl Jam online reported that Soundgarden members will reunite for the first time since Chris Cornell’s death. The guitarist Kim Thayil and drummer Matt Cameron will share the stage together for a live performance.
The reunion will happend at the Northside Festival in Denmark on June 8, where Kim and Matt will appear as special guests at MC5’s celebration of the upcoming 50th anniversary of their iconic 1969 debut album “Kick Out the Jams.”
The band will perform the record in its entirety, while other special guests include Don Was on bass and Marcus Durant from Zen Guerrilla on vocals.
Cameron and Thayil made their first public appearance together since Cornell’s death last fall to support Vicky Cornell at a Human Rights Watch charity dinner, but are yet to publicly play music together. Bassist Ben Shepherd has kept a low profile and is yet to make any sort of public appearance or statement.
