Iron Maiden sues gaming company in $ 2 million

Iron Maiden and its legal representatives filed suit against 3D Reams, a company that sells a game called Ion Maiden, asking for $ 2 million of trademark damages under the claim that the name is purposefully very similar and may cause “confusion between consumers.”

“Ion Maiden’s name is virtually identical to Iron Maiden’s trademark appearance, sound and commercial print in general, not to mention that the defendant also uses the Ion Maiden name to market merchandising, including T-shirts and mouse pads,reports the lawsuit, noting that Iron Maiden has also sold computer games in the past.

In addition to the two million damages, the lawsuit requires the company to “immediately stop product offerings” and renounce ownership of the name ionmaiden.com, which would have been created especially to cause confusion.
