The leader of Mammoth WVH, Wolfgang Van Halen, who is also the son of the late legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen said in an interview with Cameron Buchholtz of Rock 100.5’s The Katt that the Sammy Hagar era in Van Halen should get more respect. The musician praised the albums recorded by the group with that line-up and said that fans should give it a chance, because there are many great songs.
Wolfgang Van Halen says Sammy Hagar era in Van Halen should get more respect
“That era doesn’t get any respect, I don’t think. And there’s a lot of amazing songs and just obviously brilliant guitar playing on a lot of that — on all of that stuff — and I think people don’t give it a chance ’cause they fall into that exhausting ‘this singer is better’ crap, when it’s, like, just give it a chance. There’s some really good stuff in there,” Wolfgang Van Halen said.
The Van Halen era with Sammy Hagar had a huge commercial success, when Eddie started to experiment more with the keyboards. Some of their biggest hits of that era are: “Good Enough”, “Why Can’t This Be Love”, “Dreams”, “Love Walks In”, “When It’s Love”, “Finish What Ya Started”, “Poundcake”, “Right Now”, “Top Of The World” and “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You”.
