Why Ozzy should be in the Rock Hall according to Slash

Ozzy

The Black Sabbath vocalist Ozzy Osbourne will finally be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024. He is already part of it since 2006, when he was inducted as a member of Black Sabbath and he didn’t remember that, like he revealed in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. He now will be part of a select group that was inducted both as a member of a band and as a solo act. Some of those are The Beatles members and Eric Clapton.

Guns N’ Roses was inducted in 2012 and the guitarist Slash is promoting his new studio album “Orgy of The Damned”. He talked in an interview with Rockklassiker (Transcribed by Blabbermouth) about Ozzy’s induction. He said that Osbourne is one of the most influential and successful artists in the history of Rock and that he should be there.

Why Ozzy Osbourne should be in the Rock Hall according to Slash

“I think it’s great. I think Ozzy is one of the most influential people in rock and roll — period. And there’s legions of fans out there that will agree with me on that. So it’s a no-brainer that he should be in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame — as Ozzy. Because Black Sabbath is one thing, but when Ozzy went out on his own and did ‘Blizzard Of Ozz’.”

“I think it was 1980 or ’81, that record came out, right around the same time that (AC/DC’s) ‘Back In Black’ came out, that was a huge year in fucking music. And Ozzy went on to become one of the biggest record sellers in the business. So, yeah, I think that it goes without saying that he should be in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame,” Slash said.

Slash is a big fan of Black Sabbath and Ozzy and he had the chance to record with the Prince of Darkness many times over the decades. The Guns N’ Roses guitarist played the guitar solo in the 1992 Motörhead track “I Ain’t No Nice Guy” which also had Ozzy on vocals. Almost two decades later, in 2010, Ozzy was the lead vocalist in the song “Crucify The Dead”, which was part of Slash’s self-titled solo debut album.
